Ormiston Hospital

Ormiston Hospital, located 25 km south of Auckland’s CBD, was purpose-built in 2008. Positioned approximately 5 km east of Middlemore—Auckland’s largest public hospital—Ormiston serves a significant and fast-growing population corridor, with a resident population of around 540,000. It is the only private surgical hospital within the Te Whatu Ora – Counties Manukau catchment.

The hospital spans 9,000 sqm over three levels and supports more than 70 leading medical specialists and surgeons across a range of specialties. The site includes both basement and surface parking.

In June 2024, Ormiston Hospital underwent a 4,500 sqm expansion, adding a new endoscopy suite with three procedure rooms, 15 additional inpatient beds, 900 sqm of consulting space, and infrastructure to accommodate future growth. This development supports Ormiston Surgical and Endoscopy Limited, with Southern Cross Hospitals Limited—New Zealand’s largest private hospital operator—as the cornerstone shareholder.

Key tenants include Canopy Imaging, Canopy Cancer Care, Lumino Dental, Ormiston Hospital Pharmacy, and Nourish Café.
